This made me misty-eyed because it is a beautiful tribute to your mother. My daughter and I haven't spoken in two years and I pray to God that we don't lose any more time. Happy birthday Dr. Menn.🌷
Just beautiful Corinne. You really evoked such nostalgia, impactful wisdom and sweet sweet love. Your mom is right there beside you always, I just know it ❤️❤️ Happy happy birthday my friend !!!
Now I’m crying. Your story is the perfect gift for your mom and to the world. Thank you for doing so much for so many. Happy Birthday. You are just lovely. Your mom is so proud.
I too was a 70’s child with a wonderful hippie mama…when she died suddenly & tragically in 2019 from a massive brain hemorrhage after falling and hitting her head, I was diagnosed with breast cancer three months later. Dr. CM, you & I actually got to share phone call in 2024 when discussing the possibility of me taking HRT after breast cancer, and you shared with me that women often get cancer following the death of a mother…oddly, my cancer was in my left breast right over my broken heart. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss my Mom…the cancer is gone, but the remaining scars & pain, and trauma of that represent my continued pain of my mother’s absence in my life. Thank you for the rainbow connection 🌈♥️
By the way, I am on HRT after BC and I get a lot of criticism for it from doctors, family and friends, but I don’t think I could get out of bed in the mornings & go to my job if I weren’t on it. I realize I take my chances for a recurrence, but I choose quality of life while I still have a life!
Such a beautifully written tribute to your mother. This resonates with me as well: also an OB/Gyn, I lost my father to cancer when he was just 56 yo and I, only just 25 yo. He passed years before I realized my dream of becoming a physician (like him), getting married, and having my 2 kids.
Dr. Menn, you are a fierce advocate for women, and I thank you for your work and commitment. Your mom’s pride shines through for you every day!
That was beautiful Corinne. I love you. Happy Birthday.
This is so beautiful. I'm thanking your mom today, for bringing me one of the most extraordinary and dearest of friends. Love you.

You are a gift. I love you. Thank you for sharing this ❤️ and happy happy birthday to you and your heavenly mom
What a lovely story. I love the rainbow and Kermit references.
I am also an Obgyn and lost my mother to ovarian cancer. Luckily, we do not have a genetic mutation.
I’m going to look up some old Love Is cartoons! Thank you
